MFICore is a set of containers and a Postgres database. If you would rather it lived on your own box, in your own building, that is a supported way to use it rather than a workaround.

Getting it running
There is a configuration wizard that asks what it needs and hands you a compose file and the commands to run. First boot walks you through creating the first administrator.
Node images are currently published to a private registry, so self-hosting today means getting in touch rather than a one-line pull. If that is what you want, say so — it is the fastest way to move it up the list.
